About Jefferson Classical Academy of Texas
Who We Are
We are an online classical program for grades K-11. We believe in a well-rounded, virtue-centered education that nurtures both intellectual and moral growth. In everyday terms, this means we teach students how to learn, not just what to memorize. First mastering facts and language, then reasoning and making connections, then learning to express ideas clearly and persuasively. This approach is called the Trivium, and classical schools have used it for centuries. We built Jefferson Classical Academy of Texas around active engagement, curiosity, and deep thinking. Real discussion, real questions, real ideas.
Character is part of the curriculum here too. Students encounter the classical virtues: self-discipline, compassion, responsibility, friendship, work, courage, perseverance, honesty, and loyalty — because we believe those qualities matter now more than ever.
Our qualified teachers deliver instruction in live class sessions as well as through asynchronous content. We provide a traditional classical education, through modern online platforms and tools.

How Jefferson Classical Academy of Texas Works
We want to be direct about how this works: Jefferson Classical Academy of Texas is not a self-paced program. There’s a real schedule, with live classes your child is expected to attend, plus assignments and deadlines. What we do tailor is support, not pace. Teachers monitor progress closely, recommending small-group instruction when needed.
Depending on your child’s age, you may serve as a learning coach to help keep the day on track and stay connected with teachers. What we’re really asking for is partnership: a consistent routine at home, encouragement, and staying informed.

Accreditation, Authorization and Accountability
Jefferson Classical Academy of Texas is authorized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a Texas public charter school and is held to the same academic accountability standards as every other Texas public school, meaning the diploma and credits your child earns carry the same weight as those from any Texas public school. Our priority is providing our students a quality education that prepares them for life outside the classroom.
Our Blended Program Schedule
- Blended program:
- Synchronous (live) + Asynchronous (independent) learning
- Monday: Asynchronous learning day — (students may be required to attend tutoring or small groups)
- Tuesday – Friday: Mix of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (independent) learning
LIVE class attendance is required
School Day is from 7:45am – 3:15pm
